Lime has been used successfully in construction for thousands of years, as evidenced by many beautifully preserved buildings from ancient Roman times. Lime plasters and mortars are used in the building construction industry.

Using lime in construction

Lime has always played an important role in the construction industry. Lime was already being used to mix mortar thousands of years ago. Today it is often used in the form of factory premixed dry mortars containing slaked lime as a binder component. Plaster and masonry mortars are still mixed on the construction site for use in smaller applications or for special purposes, such as restoration.
